In 2017 Raisin’ Bakery brings a fresh approach to the Perth food scene, offering a delicious French-Japanese fusion of breads and baked goods that are created onsite through a unique fruit based fermentation technique. This technique is known as “Ten’nen kōbo” in Japanese, which directly translates as “wild yeast bread”.
It is a twist to the normal sourdough starter, involving the use of various kinds of wild yeast cultivated from our choice of dried fruit, raisins. This special technique gives our wild yeast bread its unique and characteristic aroma, taste and crust – served direct to you in our vibrant Shenton Park home.
Our customers are the cornerstone of our dedication to produce quality breads and with this in mind, our open plan self-select range will embrace its Japanese origins by inviting you to view and choose your own breads and pastries from our incredible range and displays. By breaking the traditional behind the counter method, customers can immerse themselves in the full artisan experience, selecting from a wide range of flavours and combinations, enhanced by seasonal and experimental products, ensuring we provide the very best to our clientele.
Our quality focused staff bring a wealth of experience and expert knowledge and we look forward to sharing our passion for breads and pastries with you.

Sisters, Winny (chemical engineer) and Nila (pharmacist) share a love and passion for good food and an appreciation of all things handmade. They also shared a dream of opening a cafe bakery where everything would be made by hand with dedication and love. The sisters wanted to introduce something completely different and spent two years to carefully craft the artisan range.
